Dave Aiken has been at Dick Broadcasting and Rock 92 for over 20 years in various positions both on and off the mic. Better known as “Weather Dave”, to listeners of WKRR-FM (Rock 92), hosts his own afternoon show on Rock 92 and is a member of the “Two Guys Named Chris” morning show. He has also worked in DBC’s Creative Services, Promotions and Event Planning department. He is Music Director and Assistant Program Director for Rock 92. Dave also co-created the first beer festival in the Piedmont in 2005, the Summertime Brews Festival. Prior to his work in radio, from 1991 to 2002, Dave was on staff for the CBS affiliate in Greensboro. He currently freelances at WXII, the NBC affiliate in the Triad, as a meteorologist.
Dave is a North Carolina native from Hendersonville and a graduate of the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has a double major with concentrations in National Security Policy and Radio/Television Broadcasting. He has two grown children, a daughter in Tampa, Florida and a son in the US Navy stationed in Rota, Spain. Dave lives in Greensboro, North Carolina.
